Thank You For A Wonderful 2025!
This Past Year
To everyone who chose Cherfold Flowers for their weddings this year - thank you. Your Sussex, Surrey and Kent celebrations have been amazing, and creating seasonal arrangements for intimate weddings remains something I genuinely love doing. I still get excited about the right combination of colours and textures for each couple - even after all this time!
The “Artist” Thing
I’ve been circling around this for years. I studied art at foundation and BTEC level, then chose a “sensible” degree path instead (not floristry related) - still one of my biggest regrets. So this year I’ve started exploring botanical art more seriously. I’ve experimented with painting and printmaking and I’m developing my macro botanical photography into something more than wedding snaps. In February, I’m starting an MA in Creative Practice, which feels both terrifying and very exciting!
Brighton has definitely helped with this shift.
What’s Brewing
Behind the scenes, I’ve been working on some new projects - building a Studio Shop - an online space for vintage botanical paintings and contemporary botanical art. It’s still taking shape, but I’m excited about creating something that celebrates my slightly obsessive need to be surrounded by flowers!
I’m also planning a Patreon for botanical art drawing and painting, though I’m still working out exactly how that will come together.
Looking Ahead
In a few weeks I’m heading to India for my annual winter trip - a month of creative reset before my MA begins.
2026 is going to be so interesting! The floristry continues, and I’m glad about that. The wedding work still feeds everything else I do. It’s all connected really - different ways of paying attention to the same things: colour, seasonality, the particular magic of flowers.
To Round Off
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for being here on this little flower journey of mine. To the couples who trusted me with your weddings, to the creative collaborators who’ve made this year richer, to anyone who’s encouraged the artistic side of what I do or even just liked one photo - I am so grateful!
Wishing you all a peaceful close to 2025 ❤️
